The Local Travel Movement in movement

Local Travel Movement logoWhen the Local Travel Movement soft-launched on March 10 of this year, we had high hopes but no real sense of what would happen. Now, nearly four short months later (exactly three months since we started pressing word to the general public), we’re very pleased. We trust that you too have found some value in the effort.

Quick Statistics
As we write this, the Local Travel Movement’s 89 partners have helped flesh out the website’s 51 blog posts and a few trim pages about local travel.

Here’s a mix of the most viewed posts and a couple of our favourites:

These pages and other resources have already been visited 6,532 times for a total of 15,794 pageviews (that’s 2.42 pages/visit) and garnered 83 comments. The average time on site is a generous 3 minutes and 16 seconds, contributing to a low bounce rate and the swiftly achieved page rank of 4.

The extended social media spaces attached to the website have also grown, with the busy Twitter twibe counting 168 members and perhaps the best source for Local Travel news on Twitter, the active facebook page boasting 644 fans and the LinkedIn group hosting 149 members.

For a loose grassroots collective in its infancy, those are pretty good numbers!

A Restructured Partners List
With so many partners, keeping the full list on the homepage got unwieldy and impractical. So we’ve restructured it. Please take a moment to review the partners’ lists by category:
