Local Travel Inspiration – Sofia tips by Locals!

It’s a new month and therefore time for some new tips from one of our 38 Spotted by Locals blogs. These blogs are filled with representative and frequently updated tips from the locals!

Today: Tips by our Locals from Sofia (Bulgaria).

Sedgwick Shop (by Boyan Christov)

1.) Sedgwick Shop – is a unique second hand shop in that it collects the best second hand clothing from other second hand stores, to sell in their own store. Local Ana Blagova has admitted to hardly leaving this place empty handed!

2.) Lime – Fast food is very healthy in this case. Lime has a small but healthy menu and offers discounts to those who order take away. However, Local Boyko Blagoev says, “[…] I really want to take my time, then a book is always a good companion if I am alone. Or I can just bring my laptop and use the free Wi-Fi to work or just act busy”.

3.) Coffee house – An extremely happy and bright place that serves delicious coffee, deadly hot chocolate and an all vegetarian menu. Local gal Denica Todorova says it’s a must visit, “even if I don’t have the time to stay, I would stop by”.

4.) Tavern Izbata – is recommended by Sofia Local Vanya Nikova. “The menu consists of traditional dishes from many regions across Bulgaria. […] Given the name, this place is also known for its excellent wine selection – ask the waiter to recommend you a wine suitable for your main course.”

Take a Cake (by Boyko Blagoev)

5.) Take a Cake – is another manifestation of the trend cupcakes that’s raging through Europe. With unique ingredients and designs it’s not like any other cake shop though. Local Boyko Blagoev mentions these special creations, “They have lots of varieties including some seemingly unorthodox like carrots and raisins cupcake. “.
